Atiqur Rahman Barbhuiya is a accomplished leader and strategist, serving as the Group Advisor and a key member of the Board of Directors at Mahalaxmi Group.

With expertise in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and digital transformation, he plays a pivotal role in driving the Group’s expansion across multiple industries, including coal mining and logistics.

His expertise extends to high-level liaison with government agencies and major corporations, facilitating strategic partnerships, regulatory compliance, and business negotiations.

He holds an MA in Political Science and specialized certifications in Conflict Management, Financing for Development: Unlocking Investment Potentials from the World Bank, and CSO-UNICEF partnerships.

His more than two-decade experience of working with the Government of India, Government of Assam, UNICEF, and global organisations such as Plan International, ILO, British Council, Room to Read, (Country Director, Bangladesh), South Asia Development Gateway (VP), underscores his deep understanding of governance, policy frameworks, and large-scale project execution.

A finalist in the prestigious World Development Marketplace Competition and an accredited UN delegate, Atiqur is also a co-author of Indigenous People of Barak Valley and serves as President of the Society for Protection and Promotion of Indigenous Language and Knowledge, he remains steadfast in his commitment to cultural and social advocacy.

As a key force behind Mahalaxmi Group’s strategic initiatives, he leads flagship ventures like Namchik Namphuk Coal Mine and Trolla.
